Doctor of Self-Worth

Today on The Heroes Podcast, we meet someone whose journey reminds us that sometimes the greatest transformations begin in the quietest places.

At 21 years old, Andrea Putting became a stay-at-home mum and moved over 800 kilometres away from everything she knew. She left behind her familiar world, her support network, and the sense of belonging that many of us take for granted.

She hadn’t built a career before. She didn’t know anyone in her new city. Naturally introverted, she found herself isolated, disconnected from the world around her, and over time, disconnected from herself.

For years, she struggled with something many people experience but rarely talk about openly: not feeling seen, heard, or valued.

Yet what Andrea discovered would ultimately change the course of her life.

She learned that belonging changes everything.

What started as a personal search for connection evolved into a mission that has impacted people around the world. Today, Andrea Putting is an international speaker, bestselling author, and Compassion Curator. As the founder and host of Chocolate and Coffee Break: A Compassionate Proposition, she creates spaces where people can break down barriers, share their stories, build meaningful connections, and inspire real social change.

In this conversation, we’ll explore how she found her voice, rebuilt her sense of self, and transformed isolation into a powerful movement of compassion and belonging.

With a deep belief in the power of purpose, Andrea works with individuals, communities, and changemakers to reimagine leadership through the lens of compassion, connection, and collaboration. Her talks, books, and signature initiatives inspire people to step into their unique superpower and use it to shape a more compassionate world.

Her journey began in the healing arts, studying Naturopathy and Homoeopathy, before launching one of Australia’s early online businesses. After selling her company, Andrea entered the corporate workforce, where she witnessed a different kind of dis-ease — disconnection, burnout, and a loss of purpose. This experience sparked a deeper exploration that led to her life’s mission: to help people and businesses rediscover their humanity through social mission.

In 2015, she founded Chocolate and Coffee Day for Religious Harmony — a grassroots initiative to foster understanding across cultural and spiritual divides. This evolved into Chocolate and Coffee Breaks, now a TV show and movement that invites people to listen with love, connect across differences, and spark positive action — one conversation at a time.

Andrea is also the creator and host of the Social Mission Revolution podcast, which has been sharing the voices of inspiring changemakers since 2019. Her work as a speaker and trusted advisor focuses on helping purpose-driven leaders and visionary teams build meaningful legacies that serve both people and the planet.
Over the years, Andrea has been recognized for her work in community, communication, and leadership. Her accolades include Toastmaster of the Year (2016), multiple global honours from Speakers Tribe, and a Wordsmith Award at the 2021 Innov8 Awards.

She is the author of “Awakened Stealth Leadership. A Soulful Approach of Growing People and Organisations,” “Compassionate Purpose. Discovering a Life of Fulfilment,” “Compassionate Prosperity. When Success is Not Enough,” “Brewing Compassion, A Guide to Chocolate and Coffee Breaks” and Moment of Infinity. Through her bespoke publishing house, Putting Words, she also helps coaches and thought leaders bring their finished manuscripts to life and into the hands of readers.
